Senior Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps Engineer

The Role
Chegg is looking for a highly qualified Senior DevOps/SRE Engineer to join our
global team. You will be responsible for developing auto scalable
infrastructure solutions for consumer-facing products and e-commerce solutions
across the world. While we are proud of what we have accomplished, we realize
that what got us here won’t get us there. We are looking for an engineer that
can help the team transition to the next level. We are enabling self-service
wherever possible to empower software engineers to develop great products,
while at the same time providing the guard rails and safety nets to protect
the operational integrity of the company.
The ideal candidate for this role will have strong cloud operations experience
(AWS/Linux/Docker), and at the same time be eager to enable self-service
capabilities with a combination of managed solutions, open source software,
and Chegg special sauce. The infrastructure solutions you will build will
serve customers across the globe. You are experienced with agile development
and a champion of software development best practices.
This person will collaborate closely with their DevOps/SRE engineering peers,
software engineering peers, and Chegg senior management. We thrive on a

Responsibilities
Partner with engineering to design and build highly reliable systems and
services
Lead technology initiatives that drive scalability, reliability, and
manageability
Design and implement tools to build & facilitate infrastructure as code within
the pipelines and environment s the teams operate in
Facilitate i mprove ment in performance aspects of our applications and solve
scaling issues
Participate in 12×7 on-call rotation schedule (primarily from 7 am to 7 pm
GMT+2)
Requirements
5+ Years experience working with AWS (Certifications preferred)
5+ Years experience with Python, Go or Ruby
Expert knowledge of Linux internals and tuning
Experience with containers (Docker and Kubernetes)
Analytical thinker that can quickly analyze a problem, understand
dependencies, and deduce a root cause
Experience with relational databases
