We're looking for a Head Of BI, Who'll build from scratch a BI platform and
team that can enable all the company units to easily make use of the data in
order to create business insights.
As an Engineering Leader for BI Platform, you will lead a portfolio of BI
products and services for Ad Hoc analytics, Reporting, Data Visualizations,
Data Governance, Data Discovery, Data LIneage, Data Dictionary. This will
include both home grown systems and third-party BI technologies like Looker
and Tableau.
You will be responsible for defining a long term vision for BI Platform at
Tomorrow.io, develop KPIs and smart goals and lead the team of engineers and
managers towards that vision. You will work closely with internal customers
such as data scientists, data analysts, engineers and business users. You will
partner with engineering teams who own core data infrastructure, security,
privacy services that BI Platform relies on. You will be very hands on and
lead by example. You will be a key owner of a top level BI Automation goal at
Tomorrow.io and will be regularly presenting results to our CEO and Executive
Leadership team.
What You'll Do:
* Build an end to end data platform from scratch
* Hire, develop, grow engineers and managers on the BI Platform team
* Define BI Platform vision, KPIs, Goals, drive delivery of measurable results
* Drive the delivery of new product features and solution through work prioritization, sprint planning, releases
* Drive adoption of BI Platform and features – organize demo days, user training sessions, send launch announcements, customer satisfaction surveys
* Communicate your vision and results at all levels, including CEO and Executive Leadership
* Be in the details. Know your team's work in-depth.
What you bring:
* ֿ3+ years of hands-on experience and 2+ years as manager while building BI platform for high scale SAAS company processing internet scale big data. proven experience setting up, managing and running big data platforms such as: snowflake, tableau, looker etc, big data queue frameworks, and dashboard tools democratizing data within the company
* Ability to think critically about data and develop new empirical metrics
* Highly independent and able to produce accurate and reliable results
* Strong Data engineering skills, building pipelines, ETL, ELT and optimizing large scale data for analytics.
* Entrepreneurial mindset and a track record of finding problems, taking initiative, and executing on your own ideas
* Understanding of data visualization principles
* Familiarity with Real-Time Big Data analytics stack
* Understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Privacy, Security, Compliance
* Familiarity with Big Data data technologies, data warehousing solutions, and in-memory databases
* Familiarity with Looker and Tableau
* Customer-centricity – you have many examples from your past of tough product issues that you persevered through to ensure customer satisfaction
* Fluent in English, strong communication skills
* 3+ years of experience in SQL other programming language – bonus
