Job Description Summary

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of the R&D Mechanical team
that lead the design and development of innovative new products within HP
press platform. This position refers to leading the design of parts and
assemblies for the HP press, starting from the sub-system and up to the full
system level of the company products. The position includes mechanical design
as part of projects while working with multi-disciplinary teams including
electronics, system engineering, service engineering and more. This position
also includes interfaces with other groups related to transfer of design to
production, manufacturing engineering, support of high-level assembly lines
etc. The position includes supporting of the company install base, failure
analysis and solving field problems.

Essential Responsibilities

* Mechanical design derived from specifications, as part of a multi-disciplinary team of parts and assemblies, using Solidworks CAD design and performing mechanical calculations and finite-element analysis.
* Design of motion systems, large structures and frames (chassis), mechanisms, electric packaging, Industrial covers, electrical design support (DXF, cables routing).
* Developing creative design solutions in response to the product requirements of functionality, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
* Presenting the design in technical design reviews at the levels of concept and detail design is a part of this position.
* Supporting transfer to production, defining basic assembly and service instructions.
* Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
* Verify the functionality of products design by developing test methodology and specifications to ensure that products design meet applicable performance requirements.
* Support production line escalations.

Education And Experience Required

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Typically 5 -10 years R&D experience.

Essential Qualifications /requirements

* Team player with ability to work on your own.
* Using Solidworks or other 3D CAD software as a mechanical design tool.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proven experience in performing manual and finite-element analysis calculations
* Proven experience in mechanical design in precise multidisciplinary systems.
* Experience in prototype building (hands on), testing execution per test plan and failures troubleshooting
* Designing sheet metal and plastic parts and associated production tooling and processes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels
* Fluent English at presentation level in technical design reviews, Zoom/Teams calls and in writing.

* Leading tasks from requirements to final NPI.
* System level understanding in multi-disciplinary project environment,
* Definition of testing and report writing,
* Experience in design for cost, reliability, serviceability and for manufacturability.
* Ability to perform finite-element analysis and Excel level technical calculations.
